Tea, wait you all know I drink coffee but tea. Yes, I drink tea. I have to have my caffeine in the morning or when I get up. (No I'm not always awake in the morning.) After a long day of chaos, (more on that later.) I love to end my day with a cup of hot tea. There is a soothing property in tea that coffee just doesn't have. There is something about the steam rising from the mug as the water and tea join to form this cup of relaxation. No, I'm not giving up coffee, that would be sacrilege but why can't I enjoy both beverages at different times of day.
The chaos, despite David being away I'm still busy. I often find myself chasing content and other bits and pieces for the radio station. Yes, that's still part of my life and in fact is very time consuming some days. Other days I'm creating a webpage, or helping a host with something. Then there's managing the podcast locations. The shows on KLRNRadio.com don't just appear and go away never to be heard again, in fact each and every one of OUR shows is available on demand. Sometimes you just need to know where to look. Then there's the paperwork, yes paperwork. This is a legal entity as well. In fact it a corporation. I wanted the station to be separate from everything.
Add in the writing, I'm always at a keyboard. If it's not the station then I'm writing. I might be crafting a new tale or editing an old one. I might be tackling a query letter or wrangling a synopsis. Truth be told there's always a keyboard near me, just trust me on that. While some days I'll let the characters just run away with the story if it's something new other days I'm making each word prove its worth just to escape the delete key. Then there are times I need to show you what is happening instead of just telling you. Trust me telling is faster, but you lose out on the details that set the scene and draw you in.
The there's two adorable furballs that demand to be fed and the usual household chores. Clean laundry is still needed and clean floors do look a lot nicer. I manage to keep dishes to a minimum, but of course I'm still eating. The food just doesn't walk itself to my desk at present I have to figure it out for myself these days.
So yes I can have a tough day, but there's always a mug of tea and maybe a cookie or two to settle me down at the end of the day. Well tea here I come, after another zany day.
