You Might Be Married to a Homebrewer If:

  • Throwing out certain empty beer bottles is a crime.
  • You have kettles large enough for small children to bathe in.
  • You have corny kegs scattered about your house.
  • One of the first five questions you ask people is their favorite style of beer. (It’s even better if you can reply: I have that on tap.)

The Apple Flash Fiction

The apple sat alone in the basket, all his friends were gone.

The peach had been soft and nice to lean against.

The apricots were small and fun to hang with.

The other apples had been bigger than him and disappeared quickly.

They had been taken ages ago. The bananas vanished each morning with the sunrise.

Now he sat alone waiting, just waiting for others to arrive or to be selected for a lunch box or a snack.

As the kitchen light dimmed he sat alone just waiting.

New Year New Goals

2019 Is Here!

It's 2019 and I'm well aware I haven't blogged in some time. Sorry for that, however I let life and other outside activities get in the way.

In order to focus more fully on my writing I have walked away from a few things I enjoyed, but the ate up a lot of time.

Let's start off with a brief look back and an update. I'm still a proud Army wife, we've moved (no real surprise there), and I've decided it's time I took my writing seriously.

A Hot Cup Of Tea To End The Day

Tea, wait you all know I drink coffee but tea. Yes, I drink tea. I have to have my caffeine in the morning or when I get up. (No I'm not always awake in the morning.) There is something about the steam rising from the mug as the water and tea join to form this cup of relaxation. No, I'm not giving up coffee, that would be sacrilege but why can't I enjoy both beverages at different times of day.

My Conversion to Scrivener

I had been writing in word for years. I think most of have used word at some point in our writing lives, even if just for a school paper. I owned not one but two copies of scrivener. I had both the mac and pc versions.  My mac is dedicated to writing. There are no games on it and I don’t want them there. My PC is for fun time or applications that won’t work on mac.

While I supported the product by spending money, in the end it was a piece of software I never used. It was like that scarf your aunt makes for you every year, you don’t know what to do with it, so it ends up on a shelf in the closet.
Oh I’d tried but the mere thought of moving my beloved baby into this new realm scared me. So I decided to start small I built a character database in the program.
Then I never accessed the database since it was in a separate program from my writing.

I continued to muddle through and leave that piece of software on my computer always saying “I’ll start my next project on it.”Continue reading
