Well to be honest, I haven’t taken the summer off from anything except my blog. I’ve popped up on twitter and been busy being an Army wife and FRG Leader. I just felt it was time to restart the blog.
Those of you who follow me regularly know I often “drop off the planet” or in reality wander away from social media. I refuse to let social media control my life.
So, what have I been doing in my “spare time?” I’ve been helping FRG raise money and hosting a number of meetings and Army-spouse related functions. Then there has been writing.
No, I didn’t stop writing. I just stopped talking about my writing. I did write a few short stories and attend a writers conference. I attended not one, but two Brad Thor book signings. Now back to the writers conference.
I attended Killer Nashville. Let’s just say it was amazing from the start. They had an awesome panel of experts there who were willing to discuss a number of topics that any mystery or thriller author would find interesting. I had the pleasure of meeting a number of agents, including one of my top three dream agents.
I must thank my writing partner Judy L Mohr for not letting my writing take a complete holiday. With her help, I completed a short story this summer, which is a first in multiple ways. I enjoyed crafting an entire story in a few scenes and getting words written. Well, it’s well past time for me to get back to writing on a more regular basis. Hence it’s time for Nanowrimo prep.
