I took some time out for Christmas…

Yes, you read that right. This crazy Jew took time out to help others have a bright and cheerful holiday.

I was invited by the local Daughters of the Revolution chapter to join them in decorating the local Fisher House. They are a place for people to stay while they or their families receive medical treatment.

Here are the lovely ladies from the local DAR group:

These lovely ladies were well organized and thought of everything, including the presents for under the tree. There were over seventy presents under the tree when they were done.

Then they had the pleasure of showing off their work to Lorie Southerland, the manager, who loved the results.

We had a lovely early present: an active duty soldier stopped by to volunteer. He was put to work helping to reach some of the higher items and reach behind the tree.

All of us love to thank the military having one stop by was awesome.

The ladies weren’t done yet. They added a candy cane tree to give the dining room some holiday flair.

I want to thank Christine Nash Distelhorst for inviting me to help these spirited and joyous women create a happy holiday for those who will be spending time at Fisher House this Christmas.
