I can finally share the huge secret that I’ve been working on for the past year. Well since May of 2016, so almost a year. You have no idea how many times I wanted to say something, but didn’t because it needed to be kept quiet for a variety of reasons, at least my involvement was kept quiet.
If you’ve dissected every social media post and comment you might have caught the faintest of glimmers. Otherwise you’ve been in the dark. Even my in-laws didn’t know until Thanksgiving, but I swore them to secrecy as well. Well the paper work has now been completed and the organization is now it’s own corporation, so I’m free to tell you all about this.
I have been working to setup and get an online radio station off the ground. KLRNRadio has consumed many an hour that could have been spent writing, but I have learned so much. No I’m not giving up my writing, it’s just going to have to take a back seat for about a year. I will still be writing but instead of pushing to get that full length manuscript done, I’ll be working on crafting short stories and editing and writing in smaller chunks.
My goal is to have most of the routine functions of the station automated by year’s end, then let the words flow full force.
I have also learned a great deal from taking on this challenge. My skills at crafting websites has grown by leaps and bounds. I can now pick out a sound bite seconds after hearing it as I maintain an audio clips board behind the scenes. I can craft a show graphic in a short period of time once I have a concept in mind. I’ve learned how to edit audio by “reading the sound waves.” I’m also forced to admit that after the great hard drive crash I needed a break from writing, but most of you realize that I can’t sit around and do nothing. If I’m not going in three directions at once with my days and sometimes my nights filled with activity I’m just not happy.
I’m sorry I had to keep this a secret for so long, however, now the cat is out of the bag.
If you want to support me in this endeavor check out the station, yes, it’s mostly political talk. We have up and coming hosts with different points of view. Like most stations, we have a christian show, and a even a show on wrestling, though you wont find that one on the schedule. We have a monthly science show and a few other surprises. Our hosts interact with listeners, and we occasionally run contests. The thing I like most about our station is that all of the shows we produce double as podcasts and are available on iTunes, Googleplay and many other places where podcasts can be found.
